Spread the Christmas cheer throughout the year
We think it is safe to say that 2022 has been another tough year on everyone with businesses struggling thanks to the cost of living crisis. Not only have bills increased but many have seen their client list reduce thanks to the tight squeeze on our belts.
And with the cold snap continuing to wind its way through across the country, it is easy to see why more of us are preferring to stay home instead of making our way through the icy streets.
However, there are ways you can increase footfall to your business. ‘Sales days’ such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday always put those extra pennies into the balance sheet and Christmas is another opportunity to grow your business.
We know that offers are a great way to get clients back through the doors so why not get creative with your reductions? Rather than dropping a massage by 10% put together a package.
Many massage settings have other services such as waxing, manicures or nail care. A Christmas pamper package including a selection of these, at a slightly lower rate than if bought individually, can ensure the recipient not only gets treated but also feels special. And lets be honest, a pamper package at one of the busiest times of the year is always a good thing.
It is also worth considering whether to open between Christmas and New Year. While a lot of the UK will still be on holiday you could open during this period and provide offers on massages such as the hot stone or warm bamboo treatments. It could also be a time to look into Himalayan salt stone massage as an extra service for 2023.
The slump following the holidays can also be a struggle for smaller businesses. The long month of January is ahead of us and many feel down thanks to the cold weather, lack of funds and the quietness after a noisy December. Therefore, it makes sense to provide an offer for the January appointment. While the customer will see this as a special treat for them the cost to you can be quite low.
And remember, while your setting needs to be warm and relaxing it also needs to reflect the season. Put up that tree, throw some fairy lights or tinsel around the mirrors and celebrate this time of year. You can also include some imagery that shows just what services you provide, such as these calming posters, which could be the finishing touch to your setting.
